The Unsolved Case of Matthew McGee
A recap of the murder mystery event by Samantha Alley and the Home Team - including a Thank You gift from Conundrum House!

The year, dear reader, transports us back to 1927 in the heart of the thriving Northwest. In this bygone era, a remarkable woman named Ms. Evelyn Peppin emerges as a trailblazer, defying the societal norms of her time. She has just made an audacious move by acquiring the Flavella Building, nestled in the bustling downtown of Monkshood, Oregon.
However, Ms. Peppin's elation at her acquisition is marred by a disconcerting reality. The deal demanded the involvement of a man, a mere co-sponsor, a necessity dictated by the narrow-minded views of the bankers who could not fathom a woman conducting business on her own. These were indeed times when the prejudices of the era cast a long shadow over the fairer sex's aspirations.
Nevertheless, Ms. Evelyn Peppin's indomitable spirit remains undaunted. She envisions a spectacular Grand Opening, a celebration of her triumph over adversity. In a show of gratitude to all the women who stood by her side through the trials and tribulations, she extends a heartfelt invitation to all of them. To uphold the veneer of respectability, she reluctantly allows her partner-in-name-only, the capable and unassuming handyman, Albert Urton, to join in her endeavor.

Yet, as fate would have it, another enigma unfolds in the narrative. Evelyn Peppin learns of an unresolved mystery lurking within her newly acquired edifice—a haunting specter of an unsolved death that casts a pall over her newfound domain. With unwavering determination, she resolves to confront this unsettling revelation, yearning to eradicate the ominous cloud that hovers over her cherished Flavella Building.
In a stroke of brilliance, Evelyn conspired with her best friend, Madame Bellington to concoct the best parlor game ever - elicit the brains of the women of Monkshood to solve the case of the unsolved death of the unfortunate Matthew McGee!

Notes of the evening and how it unfolded.
Imagine the scene - about 80 people milling about, their names being called out so they could get their name tags, then finding their group corner and settling into their groups. Excitement is building - new and familiar faces, and what is this all about?

The curtain raises on the crime scene - people press their faces against the glass to make sure they catch every clue and hint on display.
The hosts have explained that the various clues and their reports are available around the premisis for further detailed inspection.
And various luminaries are milling about as well who may have additional information - but only if the right questions are asked.

The player teams were guided from room to room to do their own detecting work - Officer Tichener was on hand to ensure this proceeded according to plan - and when accosted would provide (occasionlly) usefull hints.
