Masques & Mysteries: The Unsolved case of Matthew McGee - Initiating Fee
Couldn't load pickup availability
Setting & Scene:
The year is 1922, during the tail end of Prohibition. The scene opens in an opulent office littered with secrets: a body (Matthew McGee), a locked briefcase, bootleg liquor, a ledger, cigar tubes with mysterious powders, and a series of clues left behind by the characters who visited him that day.
McGee, a charming but shady confidence man, was on the brink of taking over a thriving moonshine empire run by the formidable Madame Bellington—a sharp-witted matriarch ready to retire from the bootlegging business. But by the time the deal was inked, McGee was dead—and the suspects, well... they’re all still lingering nearby.
Suspect Characters:
- Matthew McGee – The victim. A swindler who may have finally outplayed himself. NPC - no person needed - crime scene character only.
- Madame Bellington – The matriarch looking to retire and hand off her empire... but to the right hands.
- Ophelia Bellington – The granddaughter, a flapper with sharp instincts and zero business sense. She had strong suspicions about McGee from the start.
- Daughter Bellington – Socially proper and publicly clean, but the estate's bootlegging ops depend on her silence and influence.
- The Bootlegger – Logistics manager for both the legitimate and “liquid moonshine” sides of the business.
- The Meddler – A hanger-on and hopeless romantic secretly in love with Ophelia, possibly in the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Xavier – A globe-trotting purveyor of exotic potions, who may have supplied the mysterious poison… or the antidote.
